Postpartum Doula

Plan ahead for a commonly overlooked stage: the fourth trimester. Support your physical and emotional recovery with a compassionate in-home postpartum doula. Get hands-on help with breastfeeding and newborn care.

Protect the fourth trimester with rest, nourishment, and informed support. For some families, support looks like nourishing meals prepared with care—which is one less essential need met. For others, it’s simply having a trusted pair of hands to hold the baby while you shower, nap, or find a quiet moment in the midst of transition. Some elements of a supported healing phase include:

Mind, Body & Soul Food

Sleepless nights are easier with a warm meal and a kind shoulder to lean on. Plan ahead for your recovery.

Space to Bond

With an extra pair of hands, give yourselves the gentle space to exhale, reconnect, and truly bond as a family.

Time to Rest

Across many cultures and generations, 40 days has long been observed as the customary period for optimal postpartum rest and healing.

You’re new too.

Many new parents remain open—mind, body and soul—longer than they anticipated.

Your ability to know what to do, how to do it, who to call on, what to eat after birth is not sharp.

Rightfully so!

You are new, just like your baby.

Need help filling this gap?

1 | Let's start by answering some questions:

Do you need in-home support immediately after birth?
Does your family live out of state or country?
Do you desire a safe space to unpack your birth experience?
Do you need guidance as you acclimate to newborn life?
Do you desire hands-on support with breastfeeding?

If you said "yes" to one or more of these, you could definitely benefit from postpartum support.

Common Questions:

  • Many folks confuse the term “postpartum” with postpartum mood disorders like postpartum depression, anxiety or obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). When someone is “postpartum,” it simply means they are in the healing stage after birth and delivery of their baby and placenta.

Regardless of whether you have experienced a live birth, stillbirth or sudden loss, you are still postpartum. You need the physical, mental and emotional nourishment this phase calls for.

  • I am currently a postpartum doula in training with Doula Trainings InternationaI (DTI). I also bring my lived experience as a mother of two, childbirth educator, certified breastfeeding specialist, continuing education, and my passion to serve new families.

  • Yes! I am a certified breastfeeding specialist (CBS). Under my current scope, I offer education and guidance on the foundations of breastfeeding to support a healthy start and adjust any barriers to a sufficient latch.

  • No. During 24 hours, I offer (1) 4-hour visit. I can’t provide two back-to-back visits totaling 8 hours during a 24 hour period. This ensures I’m coming into your space refreshed and ready to pour into YOU.

  • No, not at this time.

  • If I am ill, have an emergency, or am otherwise unable to make a scheduled visit, we will work to reschedule it as soon as possible.

  • I’m happy to do light tidying up for new families, but my primary role is to support the new parent as they rest, heal, and bond. I do not offer professional or comprehensive housekeeping services at this time.
