I've Got a Podcast! Listen now on Anchor

Truth telling time: I keep my desires and intentions so hidden that they can't receive the encouraging LIGHT necessary for them to GROW and thrive. It’s a habit I picked up as a self-defense mechanism and it’s been with me as early as I can recall. Old habits die hard. But there is undeniable beauty in growth. You know the feeling. It’s like looking at a blooming plant that has outgrown its pot. That’s the feeling I’m reveling in right now.

In the spirit of what this year’s Black Breastfeeding week evoked, in the midst of the savage injustice that continues to be visited on black lives in this country, I’m using my voice toward something greater than myself. I want to be a part of the “revival, restoration and reclamation” of our maternal health stories. Because the truth is, there can never be enough platforms and spaces that tell our stories.

After months of telling myself it wasn’t worth it—a direct contradiction to what I want this platform to stand for—I decided to supplement my writing with a podcast!

My goal for this podcast is to feature conversations that capture my journey into—and jewels gained from— my birth education training, interviews that center our experiences as black parents and critical information from birth workers. I hope that black birthing families feel heard, encouraged and poured into here.

You can listen to the first three episodes here.
